Description

Tofflemire Matrix Band Retainer – Universal

The VS Surgico Tofflemire Matrix Band Retainer is the universal standard holder for matrix bands in Class II amalgam and composite restorations. Its sliding vise and locking mechanism grip the band firmly, creating a tight, anatomically correct mold for the restoration.

Product Overview

The Tofflemire design uses a vise-like clamp that holds the looped matrix band under adjustable tension, positioning it precisely around the prepared tooth. The universal pattern accepts standard matrix bands and allows quick band changes between patients.

It is used to establish proper proximal contact and contour in posterior restorations, preventing overhangs and open contacts. The rigid stainless frame keeps the band stable against condensation pressure during amalgam packing or composite layering.

Machined from surgical-grade stainless steel with smooth-operating adjustment screws, each retainer is passivated, ultrasonically cleaned, and tested for vise grip strength and smooth adjustment before packing.
